John Frieda Luxurious Volume Core Restore Protein-Infused Shampoo, review

As you can see from the name, this is shampoo but it is just not a regular shampoo but so much more. John Freida came out with a range which is specially meant for very fine hair to boost the volume. For me it is a great news because I have a fine hair. My hair is fine but it is also fine. See what I did there? No? Just me? Okay, well back to the shampoo.

This is John Frieda Luxurious Volume Core Restore Protein-Infused Shampoo, which promises to strengthen hair to maximise volume and vitality. The shampoo has a long name but does it do what it promises?

Let’s start from the packaging. The shampoo bottle, or should I rather say a tube, is convenient to use. The bottle has a cap in the bottom so when I store it, the gravity does its job and during a shower it is easy to get the shampoo out. The outer surface of the bottle tends to get slippery when wet but it’s not bad enough to actually bother me. On the plus side, I like the colours of the bottle and how it shines when light hits it. The colours have a metallic sheen and I think this teal green would make a beautiful nail polish.

The shampoo smells nice, foams well, and is easy to rinse out. The scent reminds me of a mixture of an apple and a grape. It is fresh but not overpowering.

The shampoo itself is light teal green and more liquid than I am used to. It foams well and in spite of not being as creamy as most of shampoos, it didn’t require more than the usual coin amount of a product. I have no preference in the consistency of a shampoo, as long as they foam well and cleanse my hair. This one aced both of my requirements.

After washing my hair was clean and had somewhat more volume than usual. What I love about John Frieda shampoos in general is that I have less hair fallout when I use them.
