Makeup favourites of the year 2016

Today we are going to look back at the year and see, what were my the most favourite favourites through the year.

The Body Shop Smoky 2 in 1 Gel Liner

This is a perfect natural brow product. I also use it to draw a line on the top of my upper lashes, and a bit into the crease. I use my finger to smudge it out, creating the illusion of darker eyelids without adding eyeshadow. It makes eyes pop more.

NYX The Curve eyeliner

As you can see from the picture, the lined handle is curved. It is especially designed to have an innovative ergonomic shape that makes applying liquid liner mistake-proof. Since it has a little curve in the handle too, you can have a firm grip applying the liner.

I found it to be really easy to use. Without putting much effort into it, I could draw my wings as sharp or long as I wanted. I think it is a good product for people who are beginners in the eyeliner world. I had good control over the liner, and it didn’t stress me out when I tried to draw a cat eye.

The application is smooth and even. It has a felt tip, which allows me to press harder if I should want a thicker line.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eyeshadow Palette

As you can see on the picture, it has all the colours to do a smokey eye makeup. Very professional, classy, and then it has darker colours to do vamp domina make up for nights. All colours are easy to blend, have an all day lasting power, and are just so gorgeous on the eyes. It is a really stunning palette.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation for combination/oily skin in the tone 200 Nude

It has medium coverage and is lightweight on the skin. Not once has the foundation left my skin feeling heavy or suffocated. What I love about this product the most is that it is a perfect match for my skin tone!

Revlon Colorstay Concealer

I have it in the tone “02 Light”. I use this on my “bad skin” days, when my face has declared war on me and is bombing me with multiple blemishes and pimples. This keeps everything nicely under control. I just tap my problem spots with the concealer through the day whenever they are showing themselves to me in the mirror.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser

It smoothes, primes and mattifies the skin while making pores look smaller. I use it alone or under foundation. I tend to use it more during autumn and winter.

Revlon Powder Blush in the tone 003 Mauvelous

The blush has a darker pink shade with a little shimmer in it. The blush blends well and gives a really nice shade to my cheeks. It stays on all day without fading.

Clinique High Impact Mascara

This mascara gives my lashes volume and length, it separates and makes them look like they were blacker than black. I also like that my lashes don’t clump together when I apply more than two coats. The wand is perfect for easy application and gets all the lashes with the first stroke. It doesn’t flake or smudge, and it stays on all day. The mascara comes off easily with makeup remover.

Rimmel London’s WonderLash in a tone 003 Extreme Black

This particular mascara contains Argan oil to make it more beneficial to lashes and make applying easier. I have heard multiple disagreeing opinions about the brush size. Some say it is okay and some that is bit big. I am with the first crowd. Although I don’t consider myself to have big eyes, the mascara handler sits comfortably in my hand and I can cover all my lashes without problems or smudging it on skin around my eyes. I think it is more a matter of practice.

Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara

LashBlast mascara has been really impressing me. With two coats it gives me long, dramatic, clump-free, curled, and separated lashes. It doesn’t smear or flake through the day. The brush is rubber-bristled and slightly oversized but that has never bothered me. That is actually what I like. I prefer rubber-bristled brushes over “traditional” ones.

NYX Lip Lingerie in the tone Exotic

It is a lip cream with a matte finish. It is also a food, drink, and kiss proof lip cream. I love those kind of lip products. I feel so much more carefree, and it is quite convenient throughout the day. I don’t have to worry if I need to reapply my lip cream everytime after eating. The formula is soft and glides easily on the lips. It has quite a neutral, light scent.

The tone Exotic is like dark taupe dustyrose. It is a beautiful colour which suits perfectly with my natural complexion.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in the tone 630HD Seduction

It is a beautiful taupe shade which goes with almost every makeup look. In it’s taupe peachy colour it is also perfect for “naked” days when you don’t want to wear much makeup, but still want some colour on your face.

I have heard a lot of people saying it doesn’t dry matte. The trick with this lip colour is that you have to apply a light layer so it could dry out matte. If the layer of the product is too thick, it will stay wet.

NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder

The powder gives a matte, luminous glow. I have quite oily skin and sometimes it can get shiny throughout the day. With this powder I don’t have to worry, It keeps my skin’s shininess at bay without a problem. During the summer, it is a big plus.

YSL Transparent Pressed Powder

I bought this really expensive powder because… I don’t know why, but it just happened. It doesn’t give any additional colour to my skin, but it makes it look smoother. I love this powder because even on my bad zitastrophie days, when I don’t wear much makeup, it makes me feel better about myself. It is light on the skin and gives a nice matte finish which perfected the complexion. I also love the smell of the product. It is fresh and kind of luxurious or it is just the smell of 60 bucks in a little shiny pan. I love it, but I won’t buy it again.
