A few weeks back Puhas Kosmeetika ( http://puhaskosmeetika.ee/ ) sent me few products to try. In the pack I found a hair care set and Simple: Kind To Skin+ Perfecting BB Beauty Balm SPF15. You will find out on Sunday which hair care set I am talking about. In this post I am sharing my thoughts with you about the BB cream.
What is BB cream?
Before we get to the actual product, I’ll tell you in few words what BB cream is.
BB cream stands for beauty balm or blemish balm. The BB cream combines in itself a moisturiser, primer, sunscreen, skin treatment, concealer, and foundation.
As usual, if something promises to be all of the best things of different somethings, it doesn’t usually cut it. For me BB cream is a great product on light makeup days when I want a bit of smoothing tone without much effort. Can it act as a foundation? No. Is it an easy makeup day product? Yes.
Simple: Kind To Skin+ Perfecting BB Beauty Balm SPF15
The BB cream promises to moisturise, even out skin tone, blur imperfections and smooth fine lines. The BB cream has UVA and UVB protection, alongside with a blend of multivitamins. It is without artificial perfume or colour and harsh chemicals, which makes it suitable even for sensitive skin.
The size of the package is misleading. The box is bigger than the BB cream tube actually needs. Although, I must say that if I put the tube on the package, the picture on the box is in the same size as the tube itself. In spite of that, in my opinion, the cardboard box could still be smaller.
At first I was bit worried that the tone won’t suit me because Simple makes BB creams only in one colour. BB creams usually play with your skin tone and make themselves match but even that magic has its limits.
Luckily for me, the cream was easily blendable and I managed to make the tone work for me on the second try. I just applied less than I usually would with BB and CC creams. The product also had a thicker consistency and a small pea size of cream covered half of my face. I applied it with my fingers on my cheeks and blended it up to my forehead and down to my neck.
The BB cream has a light to medium coverage, so it sits better on a clear skin. It does a good job with small blemishes and uneven skin tone. As typical to BB cream, it can’t cover bigger acne spots.
One thing which baffled me a bit, was the cream’s sparkly quality. The Simple BB cream has little sparkle shimmer in it. If you don’t apply any powder to set the cream, you will have a slightly shimmery face. For me it wasn’t strong enough for me to stop using it but it was something I didn’t expect. Days where I had to be in a professional setting, I did apply powder on the BB cream.
The BB cream stayed on almost nine hours with a bit of fading at the end of the day.
