In June I received Honeybronze Drops Of Sun from The Body Shop. So far I have been using them in my day cream to give myself a sunkissed look. A week back I heard that some people are using the drops to contour. I took them at their word and tried it myself too. In this post I am going to tell you how that worked out for me.
On the bottle it says, it is a holiday glow creator, which is a perfect description of the product.
It is a bronzing liquid gel with matte shimmer free finish. The application of the product is easy. It came with a little dropper which gave me full control over the amount I wanted to add. I used it mixed into my day cream. Since the product is really pigmented, I needed only one drop to get a healthy glow. The constant worry with bronzing products is, if they stain clothes or not. I didn’t notice any trouble. Where I applied the drops, they stayed there too.
In the end of the day, I washed the glow off with a makeup remover and got back my pale white ghost face.
You can also use the drops to make your foundation darker. It blends in easily into the foundation. That frees you from the worry of having to buy another shade of foundation only for the summer.
Contouring
You can use the product for contouring too. For that I applied few drops on the back of my hand. I dipped a small eyeshadow brush into the product and drew lines on my face where I wanted to contour. You can do that with a finger too but I found using my brush easier.
After I had the base lines down, I used a stippling brush to blend it out. The lines blended out easily with the brush. With a beauty blender I had to put in a bit more effort to get a nice result. Though it is possible, I just prefer the brush.
Depending on the undertone of your foundation, the final look is warm or cool toned.
Good:
- Gives nice sunkissed glow
- Can use to make foundation darker
- Blends easily into a cream
- Stays where you applied
- Can be used for contouring
Sad:
- I can’t think of any sad aspects
Have you tried Honeybronze Drops? What do you think of it?

It looks super scary in the bottle but looks great applied – very natural looking! It’s great that it’s shimmer free too. 🙂

It is quite dark but at the same time it is really easy to blend. When I tried to contour with it for the first time I was pleasantly surprised how well it came out 🙂

Really gorgeous! I’d be afraid to use a liquid bronzer, let alone one that dark, but you did an amazing job blending it all in and making it look natural!
