Venturing into the makeup world can be intimidating. I know it sure was for me when I started. I was like an artist who had one thing in my mind but in reality the picture was different. It may sound like a bad thing but it is actually okay. No one is a born artist. Same goes with makeup skills. It takes a lot of practise to be able to get the look you actually are trying to do.
In this post I am going to tell you about three products which made my life easier.
Brows, brows, brows… you just can’t ignore them because they are right in (on) your face (almost pun intended).
The first brow product was The Body Shop Smoky 2 in 1 Gel Liner. I use a light hand to make sure the gel will only touch my brow hair. This is a perfect natural brow product. It comes with a small brush inside which gives you good control.
Occasionally I use it as an eyeliner too. It has a great consistency for doing a lighter smokey eye look. Apply line on the lid, bit more into outer corner of the eye and smudge it out. Voila, you have almost a full look with brows, eyeliner and smokey eye.
I use it on my light makeup days and take it with me when travelling. It is a small, versatile product which “gives” me brows and a line on my eyes. Plus it has a decent brush so you don’t have to worry about that too.
In my previous paragraph I talked about The Body Shop Smoky 2 in 1 Gel Liner. You can use it as an eyeliner too. I am talking about a liquid eyeliner that you can do a sharp, on point cat eye look.
NYX The Curve eyeliner is the superstar of this paragraph. As you can see from the picture, the lined handle is curved. It is especially designed to have an innovative ergonomic shape that makes applying liquid liner mistake-proof. Since it has a little curve in the handle too, you can have a firm grip applying the liner.
I found it to be really easy to use. Without putting much effort into it, I could draw my wings as sharp or long as I wanted. I think it is a good product for people who are beginners in the eyeliner world. I had good control over the liner, and it didn’t stress me out when I tried to draw a cat eye.
The application is smooth and even. It has a felt tip, which allows me to press harder if I should want a thicker line.
Another great product from NYX is their Wonderstick. It is a contour, highlight cream stick in one package. You can create a shade where you need it and highlight as you want your face. I love its creamy form which makes it easily blendable. I usually apply the product and then blend it out with my Beauty Blender.
Since it is in a stick form, you have full control of the application. It doesn’t run or have pigmentation surprises. It blends out easily and stays on good eight hours at least.
What would you recommend for beginner makeup lovers?
