July empties

Another month has passed, another bunch of products are used up. This time I finished mostly skin care products which I was using on daily basis.

The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Makeup Remover

The eye makeup remover did a fantastic job. When I used it, I held a cotton pad on my eyes for fifteen seconds. After that I gently wiped my eye makeup off.

This formula was gentle on the eyes. I didn’t have to rinse my eyes after or feel any soreness. I was positively surprised with the product. I used their solid eye makeup remover last summer and that was a disappointment for me. Usually I am very picky when it comes to eye makeup removers. For this I have no complaints. Plus, did I mention how good the packaging looks? Within a few months it has become a holy grail product. About my other holy grail products you can read here

eye makeup remover

Depend Make-Up Removal Wipes with Aloe Vera

These were the cheapest makeup wipes I found from my local supermarket. I needed them to remove fallouts and clean hands while I was doing my makeup. Occasionally I used them to remove a light layer of makeup from my face too. That happened usually in the middle of day when I knew I wasn’t going out again, and I was too lazy to take my makeup off properly. They were alright, but nothing too special.

Would I repurchase? Yes

Marc Anthony Repairing Macadamia Oil Treatment

The oil was lightweight, smelled nice, hydrated, and boosted shine.  It also corrected damaged, split, and frizzy hair. The oil treatment was infused with bamboo. I noticed a difference in my hair after using it one time. My hair is shinier and looks so much healthier. It lasted me for 6 months.

macadamia ysl powder

YSL Transparent Pressed Powder

I bought this really expensive powder because… I don’t know why, but it just happened. It didn´t give any additional colour to my skin, but it made it look smoother. I loved this powder because even on my bad zitastrophie days, when I didn’t wear much makeup, it made me feel better about myself. It was light on the skin and gave a nice matte finish which perfected the complexion. I also loved the smell of the product. It was fresh and kind of luxurious or it was just the smell of 60 bucks in a little shiny pan.

Would I repurchase? No. I loved it a lot, but no.

The Body Shop Tea Tree 3 in 1 Wash.Scrub.Mask

The product had a really light pastel green tone. I could see the little scrubbing particles too. The consistency was creamy, and during application it spreaded nicely on my skin.

The smell of the product was fresh. It was quite similar to the rest of the tea tree products but not so strong. I would say it had a rather mild, fresh scent. It cleaned my face gently while removing a light to medium layer of makeup.  I used it for three months, twice a day.

The Body Shop Drops Of Youth Youth Cream

I first tried it from a little sampler package and I fell in love. It was a very lightweight cream, soft, and moisturising. The cream had subtle fresh scent. A big plus was that it disappeared into the skin quickly. I used it as a morning cream.

The texture of the cream was soft, and airy. It reminded me a bit of whipped egg whites. It was easy to apply on the skin with the little spatula. I don’t suggest dipping your fingers into any cream because of the possibility of contamination. At least I feel uncomfortable if I think of scooping face products on my skin with my fingers. It lasted me for five months.

  1. Aww haha your feelings toward the YSL powder is how I sometimes feel about highend makeup. They don’t always outperform the drugstore ones… we just get suckered into the marketing hype and the pretty packaging. It’s ok to have some treats from time to time!
