Holy Grail products

I think everyone of us have products which are bought over and over again. I like to call them holy grail products. Those are the ones which I have no plan to replace any time soon. I have five loyal companions I wish to introduce you in this post.

The first holy grail product I have is probably the oldest in the bunch. It is Maybelline Express Nail Polish Remover. It has almond extract and I can sense it too in the smell. Of course, in spite of it, it still has quite a strong nail polish remover scent.

The nail polish remover does really good job. I have no problem removing any kind of nail polish without putting too much effort into it. Well, not any kind of nail polish. I still have to go over a sparkly nail few times before I get everything off of that. If you are into manicures, that isn’t news to you.

The second oldest holy grail product is Artistry Base Coat. I use it every time I do my nails. The finish is matte light pale pink which is a good base tone for every other nail polish. If I apply two coats of the polish, it looks like a low key French manicure.

The next three items are from The Body Shop.

My holy grail product number three is Almond Nail & Hand Cream. It has been my favourite hand cream through the years. The cream has a nice almond scent, which I absolutely love. It leaves my hands smelling like sweet almonds on a summer day. The cream moisturises and conditions nails. The texture is soft and a bit thicker than usual hand creams. It soaks into my skin quickly and doesn’t leave my hands greasy. It is infused with sweet almond oil and Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil.

The fourth holy grail product is Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. It smoothes, primes and mattifies the skin while making pores look smaller. I use it alone or under foundation. I tend to use it more during autumn and winter.

The last, but not least, the fifth holy grail product is Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover. The eye makeup remover does a fantastic job. When I use it, I hold a cotton pad on my eyes for fifteen seconds. After that I gently wipe my eye makeup off.

The formula is gentle on the eyes. I am quite certain that even those who have sensitive eyes, can use it. I didn’t have to rinse my eyes after or feel any soreness. I am positively surprised with the product.

  1. Adryana. I’m old. So over the many decades I’ve gone over so many HG products that it is ridiculous. But I have to say, nail polish remover–its been tough to find one that does the job quickly so I’m going to take your advice and purchase the Maybelline. Speaking of Maybelline–their “The Falsies” mascara IS one of my HG products. As soon as I’m almost done with one tube, I run out to purchase another. It is the best drug-store mascara and better for me than many high ends.
Another absolute HG product since I was a child is Chapstick. The ORIGINAL Chapstick. This lip balm is the greatest multi-tasker. It also works as a “blur” for fine lines. And at .99 a tube, is a lot cheaper than many of the expensive products!

    • I love Maybelline nail polish remover. It’s the only remover I’ve tried which does its job quickly. I pain my nails a lot and a good remover is a necessity for me. Of course if I have sparkly polish, it will need some extra rubbing to get everything off.
I don’t think I have heard of the mascara. Maybe I’ve seen it but right now it doesn’t pop up in my mind. I think the best mascara I have tried was Maybelline Lash Sensational. I am a curious person so I keep trying new ones out but at the same time I know that I can always turn back to Lash Sensational mascara if I’ve finished my searches. Have you tried it?
I have heard legends about the original Chapstick. Everyone has been liking it so far. Here, unfortunately, they are not selling it so I have to take your word on it 🙂

  2. Thank you for sharing! I should try that nail polish remover…the one I use seems to be very harsh and drying. I think that my skin care routine is decent, but I would like to try that hand creme someday. 🙂

    • I’ve tried different nail polish removers and this has been the most effective. The Body Shop polish remover is also good- it moisturises nails better than Maybelline’s. I like Maybelline remover better because it does its job quickly.

  3. […] This formula was gentle on the eyes. I didn’t have to rinse my eyes after or feel any soreness. I was positively surprised with the product. I used their solid eye makeup remover last summer and that was a disappointment for me. Usually I am very picky when it comes to eye makeup removers. For this I have no complaints. Plus, did I mention how good the packaging looks? Within a few months it has become a holy grail product. About my other holy grail products you can read here  […]
