During May I visited friends across the ocean and I did some makeup shopping as well, so it wasn’t a surprise for me when I realised that all my favourites were from those hauls. Although I bought a lot of products from different companies, my hand reached to NYX and Revlon products the most.
The only product from Revlon which made it to my May favourites was Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in the tone 630HD Seduction.
It is a beautiful taupe shade which goes with almost every makeup look. In it’s taupe peachy colour it is also perfect for “naked” days when you don’t want to wear much makeup, but still want some colour on your face.
I have heard a lot of people saying it doesn’t dry matte. The trick with this lip colour is that you have to apply a light layer so it could dry out matte. If the layer of the product it too thick, it will stay wet.
The formula is soft and glides on easy. With the wider applicator you can cover lips and even the corners without a problem. For me the lip cream smells like caramel s’mores.
In spite of being a matte lip product, it doesn’t survive eating. So after eating it needs to be reapplied.
Al other products are from NYX.
NYX Wonder Stick in the shade Light/Medium. It is a two sided stick for contouring your face. I love its creamy form which makes it easily blendable. I usually apply the product and then blend it out with my Beauty Blender.
The Wonder Stick is a perfect product for people who are still learning and doing their first steps in the contouring world. Since it is in stick form, it is really easy to control how much and where you apply the product.
NYX HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder. On the NYX Cosmetics homepage it says “A miracle in a jar!” and I have to agree. The powder has a really really really really fine mill. If I am not careful with the brush and accidentally take too much on it, I might find myself in a powder cloud. If fairy dust was a real thing, it would look like that.
The powder sets my foundation beautifully, giving it a matte, luminous glow. I have quite oily skin and sometimes it can get shiny throughout the day. With this powder I don’t have to worry, It keeps my skin’s shininess at bay without a problem.
To apply the powder, I use Real Techniques Powder brush. It grabs the powder well and covers my whole face.
NYX Lip Lingerie in the tone Exotic – It is a lip cream with a matte finish. It is also a food, drink, and kiss proof lip cream. I love those kind of lip products. I feel so much more carefree, and it is quite convenient throughout the day. I don’t have to worry if I need to reapply my lip cream everytime after eating.
The formula is soft and glides on easily on the lips. It has quite a neutral, light scent.
As I said before, it lasts a good eight hours. I also wear NYX waterproof lip liner under it to make it last even longer.
Since it is a matte formula, I suggest using a moisturising lip balm in the evening after wearing this. It doesn’t dry them out and feels light on the lips, but it will just look better if your lips are moisturised.
The tone Exotic is like dark taupe dustyrose. It is beautiful colour which suits perfectly with my natural complexion.
NYX Big & Loud Lash Primer – I have to admit, I was sceptical about it. I had heard a lot of negative comments about lash primers so my hopes weren’t high. When I used it for the for the first time I was baffled. Oh my god! I had lashes! In their natural form, my lashes are short and straight.
Thanks, dad! I applied two coats of primer and two coats of mascara. The result was amazing. On the days when I wear it, some people have asked if I am wearing falsies, so obviously it works for me.
The brush is thin and long. For me it is easy to work with since I prefer bigger brushes on a daily basis. I have no problems working with it. All lashes get an even coat and they dry quickly.
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to let me know.
