Orly Matte Top Coat

I have never had a mattifying top coat. Now I do. I don’t know why I waited so long.

I was sceptical at first, but it surprised me in the most positive way. To see before-after pictures, keep reading.

I did my manicure as usual. First base coat, then two layers of main coat, and then top coat.

As a base coat, I used Artistry Nail Colour with a light pink tone. It has been one of my Holy Grail products for four years now.

The black nail polish is by The Body Shop. It is from their Color Crush range, and in the shade ´740 Smoky Rose´.

I usually use Eveline top coat. This time I used Orly Matte Top Coat to see if it really does what it promises.

It did! I could easily see how the shiny nail polish changed into matte. The biggest plus is that it dries quickly. I think I waited around ten minutes before I felt confident enough to start doing things. Of course, I don’t suggest getting into heavy work after minutes after doing your nails, but in a home setting, you should be fine.

The formula of Orly top coat is a bit less viscous than I am used to. That means I have to be mindful about how much I am leaving on the brush as I take it out of the bottle. Otherwise, I will have too much product on the brush.

In conclusion, I can say that I like the matte top coat. I don’t have to buy two sets of nail polishes if I want to have shiny and matte in my collection. This little bottle (cost less than 8 dollars), can do the trick and nail it!
