April empties

During April I finished quite a lot of products. Most of them are ”in shower” products while some are “after shower” products. Only one item is from the makeup category. So, without further ado, let’s get into the basket.

empties

Ofra lip liner in the tone ´Wine´ – It was a smooth, soft lip liner. I didn’t have to apply much pressure to make it appear on my lips. The tone was a perfect companion to my Nyx Butter Lipstick in the tone BLS17 Pops Explosif. The only downside of the lip liner was it kept breaking when I sharpened it. As a result, I sharpened it more than I planned.

Would I repurchase? It was a gift. Would I purchase it my own? Probably not. I love the tone but insides were too fragile.

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Shower Gel – At first I liked the scent. When I was halfway through the bottle, not so much. I guess on some days it was too nutty for me. I can’t really blame it since it was from Argan. Overall it lathered up well and did what it was suppose to do.

Would I repurchase? No.

The Body Shop Frosted Plum Shower Gel – The Frosted Plum series was a limited edition for winter 2015/2016. I hope they will bring it back next year as well. I loved the smell of it. It reminded me of a spiced up plum drink with a cinnamon undertone. Like every other Body Shop shower gel, it lathered up well and created a deliciously smelling soft foam. Plus, it cleanses the body well and is suitable for sensitive skin. I mean, what else do you want from a shower gel?

The Body Shop Olive Body Butter – This body butter became my favourite in December, until I used it up. I mean…it’s still my favorite, but now it’s just gone.  The body butter had a fresher smell than I was expecting at first. I thought it would have a dry scent when I first picked it up but actually it had nice fresh smell. It reminded me of a sunny spring morning after a good rain and I love it. The body butter contained cold-pressed Community Fair Trade organic olive oil from Italy.

The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub – This is one of my favourite scrubs. I think it was a third time repurchase. I would describe this as a body scrub I reached for if I meant business. The scrub had strong and effective scrubbing particles. Without problem it removed all dead skin cells and gave ‘one skin size too small’ feeling. After using it I had to moisturize my skin for it to fit me again.

Would I repurchase? Yes!
Oil Of Morocco Argan Oil Shampoo – The shampoo was sulfate free and infused with argan oil. AdditionalMarc to argan oil it also contained keratin and grape seed oil. All that together made the shampoo smell really good. The scent was light, rather freshly sweet, and not overpowering. I’m still not a fan of overpowering strong scents.

Oil Of Morocco Argan Oil Conditioner – The conditioner was sulfate free. The product was infused with argan oil, keratin and grape seed oil. The conditioner hydrated, restored strength, and gave shine. The formula was a bit thicker than usual but it didn’t make it harder to use at all. I liked its creamy consistency. For me, it made applying so much easier because it didn’t slide off my moist hands.

Simple Makeup remover – I bought this because I thought it was going to be as good as the facial cleansing wipes. I was wrong. It took a lot of effort to get my eye makeup off with it. The weakest moment for the remover was the mascara. Instead of taking it off, it kind of transferred it to my lower lashes and left it there. I couldn’t remove it on the same day and I had to use the makeup remover the next morning to finally cleanse my eye makeup. The product borders on a flop line.

Would I repurchase? No.

Artistry Essentials Balancing Toner –  It was a part of my evening and morning routine for a while. The toner had a matte finish and kept my skin’s oil production under control. At some point I began using it right after I got home to take off most of my makeup. It’s a good toner for oily skin.

Would I repurchase? Yes

Beautycycle Make-Up Remover Towelettes – These weren’t the best makeup remover wipes I have used, but they weren’t too bad either. They claimed to remove even waterproof mascara. I would say that they couldn’t even completely remove mascara that wasn’t waterproof. If I leave that fact out, they were decent makeup wipes.

The Body Shop Almond Conditioning Hand Wash – It was a soap-free cleanser for hands and nails.  The formula was infused with sweet almond oil and Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil. It also had a light almond nutty scent. I really liked this hand wash because I could clean my hands while treating my nails with oils. In my opinion it was quite an effortless way to make sure you give the necessary vitamins to your nails. The bottle lasted me for quite some time. I think I finished it within three months. I don’t see myself replacing this hand cleaner with something else any time soon.
