After a long winter, I always feel I need to change few things in my life. The easiest change is to figure out a new go-to makeup look. It doesn’t need much. If I have a palette that gives me multiple colour options, it is easy to choose three new tones to use. In this post I will share my new go-to makeup look for April.
When I do my makeup, I start with my eyes.
Before applying eyeshadow, i like to define my eyes with a white eyeliner. For that I use Etam Push Up Regard Crayon Kohl Ultra-Pigmente, in the tone 01 Beige Toute Nue. It has been my loyal companion since July 2015.
Even though I have a separate eye primer, I rarely use it. I prepare my eyelids with a eyeshadow crayon from Etam Cosmetics. The proper name is Etam Push Up Regard Crayon A Paupieres Longue Tenue, in the tone tone 02 Peche A La Ligne. This has also been my loyal companion since the July 2015.
The next step is applying eyeshadow.
My all time favourite eyeshadow palette is from Urban Decay. The Naked Smoky palette has twelve shades for all occasions. Lately I have been creating greyish blue look with six shades from the palette.
In the inner corner of my eye I use shade Thirteen, and as a base colour I use the shade Combust. Under my eyebrow I use the same shade as always, the shade called High.
For my lid I use the shade called Armor, and in the crease the shade Dagger. As a transition shade I use the shade Slanted. The transition shade blends lid and crease tones, and avoids the situation of strong contrasts.
For my face I still use almost all the same products I used a few months back.
I still use Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control. I am not impressed with this product. It does its job but it doesn’t make little unicorns dance.
As a foundation I use Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous in the tone 810 Classic Ivory. Through the months I have slowly begun to like this foundation a lot. I know little tips and tricks to make it work for me. Although, if I do get through this bottle, I won’t buy a new one.
To set my foundation, I use Yves Saint Laurent transparent pressed powder. It gives a nice matte glow to my skin.
On full makeup days I choose Revlon Powder Blush. I have it in the tone 003 Mauvelous. It has a darker pink shade and is easily blendable with other products.
Next comes The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter. It is in a soft champagne tone. The product is well pigmented, and with a small amount on your brush, you go a long way.
As a bronzer I use Rimmel London Natural Bronzer, in the shade 021 Sun Light. It is a natural bronzer with minerals.
For brows I use Maybelline Browdrama Pro Palette. I have it in a shade 260 Deep Brown. Most of the time I use only powder.
The mascara I use is L’Oreal False Lash Wings in the tone Black. This mascara gives a really nice curve without having to curl my lashes. It is pigmented and stays on all day. You can read more about it in my post entitled March Favourites.
On my lips I use Etam Cosmetics lip cream in the tone 08 Roseo Et Juliette. It is a liquid lipstick with a matte finish in a pink berry tone. If I apply it straight to my lips, without using a lipliner, the staying on power is amazing. I can eat, drink and it doesn’t wear off. It is just that pigmented. The formula feels light on the lips too.
After using all mentioned products, the result is an edgy spring look.

Very pretty. I always forget how timeless red lipstick is. I’m always thinking “what shade should I wear today?” And red usually gets skipped lol.

It does suit my skin tone, but I keep reaching for pinks lately lol. I really should do red lips someday!

I love it! I am not big on the lip color (I prefer neutrals) but is looks great on you. My favorite is the smoky / metallic eye.

Great Spring look!
What are your tips and tricks to making the Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous foundation work for you?

My skin has to be really moisturised to use it. Also less is more if I want to build it up. I never had to take those into a consideration when I used Revlon Colorstay foundation. Right now I’m moisturising my face more than ever lol

Good to know! I thought the Luminous version was supposed to be more hydrating, but I guess not!

It is and the same time it needs well moisturised skin. Otherwise it just doesn’t sit on skin as flawless as it could.
