January empties

In January I finished quite a few products and without a further ado introduction, let’s just get into it.

Rimmel London’s WonderLash – The first time I mentioned it in my post entitled ´Top 5 Products from past month´. The mascara was in the tone 003 Extreme Black. This particular mascara contained Argan oil to make it more beneficial to lashes and make applying easier. I have heard multiple disagreeing opinions about the brush size. Some say it is okay and some that is bit big. I am with the first crowd. Although I don’t consider myself to have big eyes, the mascara handler sat comfortably in my hand and I could cover all my lashes without problems or smudging it on the skin around my eyes. It gave me enough volume and length. It didn’t smudge and didn’t have any fallouts through the day. I don’t have a single bad word about this product. Plus, the packaging is beautiful.

Would I repurchase? Yes

Revlon Colorstay Foundation – I mentioned the foundation in a post entitled ´Top 5 Products from past month´. The foundation was for combination/oily skin in the tone 200 Nude. It had medium coverage and was lightweight on the skin. Not once did the foundation leave my skin feeling heavy or suffocated. What I loved about this product the most is, that it was a perfect match for my skin tone! This was the first foundation I used years back when I started using makeup. It was my favourite and still is.

Etam Bulleuse Grignot Euse – In English I am pretty sure it would be somehow related with body scrub, because it is one. In the scent there were mixed together vanilla, milkshake, orange, and almond. Overall, for me, it had a tacky sweet smell, but nothing too extreme. The scrub was creamy. To be honest it was more of a exfoliating body cream than body scrub. Either way, it did its job well. After using it, my skin was soft and smooth.

The packaging is so pretty. It looks like bonbons, (in French and English), and sugar. Even the tube itself smells like a vanilla candyland. I chose the product because of the looks and smell of the package.

Would I repurchase? No, unless they change the smell.

Frosted Plum Shower Gel – The Frosted Plum series was a limited edition for winter 2015/2016. I hope they will bring it back next year as well. I loved the smell of the shower gel. It reminded me of a spiced up plum drink with a cinnamon undertone. Like every other Body Shop shower gel, it lathered up well and created a deliciously smelling soft foam. Plus, it cleanses the body well and is suitable for sensitive skin. I mean, what else do you want from a shower gel?

The Body Shop Almond Conditioning Hand Wash – It was a soap-free cleanser for hands and nails.  The formula was infused with sweet almond oil and Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil. It also had a light almond nutty scent. I really liked this hand wash because I could clean my hands while treating my nails with oils. In my opinion it was quite an effortless way to make sure you give the necessary vitamins to your nails. The bottle lasted me for quite some time. I think I finished it within three months. This bottle was my second time repurchase. I don’t see myself replacing this hand cleaner with something else any time soon.

Would I repurchase? Yes

Almond Hand & Nail Cream – It was a hand cream with almond oil and Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil. It moisturised my hands and conditioned my nails. This must be my all time favourite hand cream. If I remember correctly this was my third tube I used up. I loved the nutty almond scent and its texture. The texture was soft and bit thicker than the usual hand creams are. It soaked into my skin quickly and didn’t leave my hands greasy. I also talked about it in my 24 Happy Day post.

Would I repurchase? Yes

Artistry Essentials Eye and Lip Makeup Remover – I have lost count how many times I have finished this product in past three years. This is my holy grail makeup remover. It was a two phase system, so it needed a bit of shaking before applying it to the cotton pad. It contained skin soothing aloe vera, chamomile, and oat extract. In my experience, this makeup remover left my skin a bit greasy but it wasn’t too bad. I´ve talked about the product in the posts ´Evening Routine´  and November Empties.

Would I repurchase? I already did.

Vitamin E Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes – This was a second time repurchase from November. These wipes cleansed, toned and removed my make-up all in one step. Although I do recommend removing eye makeup with something else, because they are meant for that. On my skin they felt soft, refreshing and cool.

Would I repurchase? Yes

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser – It was also in my December favourites. I bought it at the end of November and I have used it every day since then. At first, I planned to use it only as a primer under my foundation. As the days passed, I’d  noticed that it is also perfect to use as a day cream since it keeps my skin´s oil production at bay. On the tube it says “Pores look smaller, skin feels purer. Smoothes, primes and instantly mattifies.” I can confirm, it does exactly what it is suppose to do. My pores look smaller on my cheeks and that is giving me healthier look.

Would I repurchase? Yes

Batiste Dry Shampoo Original – This product was one of my December favourites. I am pretty sure I lived under a rock because this was quite a new discovery for me. Now I can’t imagine my life without it. You can tell by the size of the container that I just wanted to try it out. I used it on the days I didn’t wash my hair. I sprayed it in my hair before bed. By the morning the shampoo had soaked in the extra greasiness. The fresh look stayed all day and that was all I needed.

Would I repurchase? I already did.

Yoga Bomb – I bought the bomb when I had a recent Lush haul. It was a nice orange bath bomb which reminded me of a setting sun. The smell of the bath bomb was subtle and earthy. I think it would be perfect for people who can´t stand strong smells. Featured ingredient is sandalwood oil.

The bath bomb turned the water into a beautiful yellow orange mix. It truly felt like I was taking a bath in a sunset on a warm summer evening. The sandalwood scents reduced stress and was relaxing for the mind and body.

Would I repurchase? No. It was good but there is so many other bath bombs I haven’t tried yet.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to let me know.

      • If I ever use something up, I might just copy this idea! 🙂 Seriously, I liked the way you talked about the product and told if you would buy again and why. Great info. Sometimes you think you love something, but by the time you get to the end, you don’t. Or you run out and you are like, “My world will END!” That’s good info to give out!

      • I’ve been doing “empties” once a month. It is a great way to keep eye on progress and actually see that I’m finishing things up too, not only buy new products.

      • I actually think that’s a good reason for the review as well. Helps you to actually process what you use/don’t use and forces you to truly think about the “Will I buy this again” option. Brilliant! At some point I will be coming up with things becoming empty… HAHAHA
