In December I finished up quite a few products. Some of them were makeup products, and some were skincare and haircare. I would also categorise contents of my empties basket into “in shower”, “after shower”, and “makeup” products.
This is a longer post, so grab a coffee or tea and make yourself comfortable.
In shower products:
Lush Yuzu And Cocoa Shower Cream – On the bottle it is said it “smells like chocolate oranges”. I would also add banana because it has sweet fruity scent. When I smelled it in the store, it was good. When I used it for the first time, I got nauseous because of the sweet smell. I probably applied it too much on my shower lily to get foam. After few times of using it, I understood that probably it is not made to create a lot of foam. On a positive side it cleanses skin well like any other shower cream/gel. I am sure, there are people who have raised this product to their Holy Grail status but for me, it was just another shower cream.
Would I repurchase? No
The Body Shop Passion Fruit Shower Gel – I talked about it few days back in my post entitled “The Body Shop Haul”. It has a sweet, spicy scent and it lathers up well. No matter what Body Shop shower gel I am using, I don’t have to use much product to get a lot of foam. That means, it lasts longer and you can still foam yourself up without guilt of wasting the product.
Would I repurchase? I already did!
Turbliss Bioactive Peat Mask For All Skin Types – Since it is peat mask, it should stay moist while using it. After washing my hair and applying conditioner, I put the peat mask on my face and left it there while I was using body scrub. The humidity in the shower room kept the mask moist and lt to work its magic. After seven-eight minutes I rinsed it off while also rinsing the conditioner off of my hair and body scrub off of my body. The mask felt refreshing and smoothing on my skin. It is one of the most convenient masks I´ve had. I didn’t have to put too much effort into using it. Plus, the mask comes in a really cute glass jar.
Would I repurchase? Yes
The Body Shop Shea Sugar Body Scrub – This product has a sweet soft shea scent, sweeter than I expected. I am actually surprised I loved the smell because I am not a fan of overly sweet scents. In this claim´s light, I should mention that it has a sweeter smell than the shea body butter I used up in November. Link to November empties is here. On the skin it felt rather soft since it is a sugar based scrub. While using it, I understood it is better to apply it on lightly moist skin. That means after rinsing yourself from shower gel/soap, you should wipe off little droplets of water from your body also. Otherwise the product will melt quicker than you are able to smear it over your body. I loved that after using this, I didn’t have to extra moisturise my body because it did it for me.
Would I repurchase? Yes
After shower products:
The Body Shop Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator – This has been my Holy Grail product since May of 2015. It cleanses my pores, smoothes my skin, removes all dead skin cells and it smells good. Plus, it has a really nice design and it is easy to use. Also, it keeps zit-astrophes under control if there should be any. I mean, what else would you want from a facial exfoliator? It is also one of the steps in my evening routine.
Would I repurchase? I already have- The Body Shop November haul
It’s Skin The Fresh Mask Avocado – I really didn’t like this mask at all. Package looks good but that is about all there was good about this mask. Full review about the mask here
Would I repurchase? No
Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco – Everytime I washed my hair, I used it afterward. I loved how it moisturised my hair ends and it smelled really good. I have used quite few different hair oils before and I can say that this was one of the best, if not the best. My hair regained its natural shine and it also felt like it became thicker. I loved this hair oil.
Would I repurchase? This was a gift, but if I find it in my local store, then yes, I would purchase the hair oil.
Mitchell’s Wool Fat Hand Lotion For Gardeners – It was a nice hand lotion. I liked that it absorbed quickly into the skin without leaving skin feel greasy. The smell was fresh and very light. I also like the packaging and design on the label. It looks like it should be held on a shelf in a little wooden cottage next to a sink and gardening tools.
Would I repurchase? No. It was nice but it didn’t give me any “wow” emotion while using it.
Makeup products:
Isadora Face Sculptor – I used it everyday after buying it. Then I finished the highlighter and blusher part. I bought The Body Shop Shimmer Waves to replace both of them. Finishing the bronzer part took me three more months to finish than the other two. Overall I would say I liked the product. Since it has been quite a while after finishing the highlighter and blush, I won’t say much about them. I only remember that I liked the tones. Bronzer was well pigmented and I could use it to contour my face. It is a good set for a beginner. On the bottom it has a little scheme where to use which product.
Would I repurchase? If I would need a compact set, then yes.
The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur for eyes – It is a tinted concealer + primer and colour intensifier.
I think this is the first Body Shop product I don’t care for. I found it to be a struggle to apply it to my eyelids. When squeezing it out of the tube, the product had rubbery consistency and was easily shaped. I hoped it would get more workable with the heat of my fingers but it didn’t. I somehow used half of the tube up, trying different ways to get it work for me but I failed.
Would I repurchase? It was a gift from The Body Shop during November’s client days ( https://adryanabblog.wordpress.com/2015/11/21/the-body-shop-haul-november-2015/ ). I wouldn’t purchase it myself.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Have you used any of mentioned products? How did you like them?

I agree about the overly sweet/sugar-y scents, which is what I love about The Body Shop. In addition to the Shea scent I like the Argan Oil and the Honey. They’re just right!

I always wish the body shop people should initiate mac policy like get one product in exchange for three of their empty products…
