This Christmas I got the Black Opium gift set by Yves Saint Laurent. If you read my November empties post then you already know how much I love the Black Opium perfume.
The gift set comes in a little black box. The outer surface feels to the touch a bit like cloth, and is deep black with tiny sparkles. The box is closed with a magnet in the middle which is easily opened if needed. Over all it has a glam rock finish and is a true eye catcher.
Inside the box is the Black Opium perfume, a Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils in a sample size and a nail polish in the tone 59 Nuit Noire.
Black Opium perfume
It makes me feel like I’m out on a warm autumn evening in a field of flowers, or a cold winter night when it is snowing and I am having a mulled wine in front of a fireplace. It has the scent of dark longing for something or a sweet satisfying danger. The top notes to me are coffee, vanilla and jasmine. Additional notes in the perfume are pink pepper, orange blossom, patchouli and cedar. I said a few words about the perfume in one of my older posts as well.
Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
I got the mascara in the tone High Density Black. The mascara has a nylon fiber brush and it is easy to use. The mascara’s formula is thicker than I am used to and it took few moments for me to get the hang of it. This is actually second mascara I have from this line. Currently I am using the one I got from on my previous YSL haul in September. I have to admit that I am not too hyped about the mascara. The formula is either too dry, or mine is just slightly dried out. To get any length or volume, I need to apply at least four coats.
La Laque Couture 59 Nuit Noire
The nail polish has a deep charcoal tone. I could say it is almost black. The formula is rather thin but it doesn’t affect applying the nail polish in a bad way. From the bottle you can see it is glittery. From my experience, the brush applies little silver and black glitter pieces almost evenly over nails. Like with most nail polishes it looks best after applying two coats. After applying the nail polish, I usually wait twenty minutes before doing anything.
I hope this was interesting, and if you have any comments and/or questions, don’t hesitate to let me know your thoughts.
Thank you for reading,
Adryana
