November Empties

In November I finished twelve products. Some of them were travel size so it was not a large amount to use up in one month. All I can say about that is October was a more “successful” month, which means all products are still fresh and I’m not going to finish them any time soon.

Coming back to November empties, this month was good for makeup remover products.

I used up two travel size Artistry Essentials Balancing Lotions.  On my everyday morning routine with skincare, it was my third step after cleansing and toning. The lotion kept my skin shine free almost all day if I decided to have no makeup day.

Another product in Artistry Essentials line I finished was their Balancing Cleanser. I wrote about that in my previous post where I described my evening skincare routine. You will find  few words there about Artistry Essentials Eye and Makeup Remover which is also one of November’s empties.

Last item in my skincare empties basket are Forever 21´ Cleansing Tissues with cocoa shea butter. They promised to be moisturizing, hydrating, and smoothing, which they were. I hoped they would be softer to the touch but that is just my personal preference. Overall it was a good product.

From haircare I managed to use up one shampoo, conditioner and hair oil.

Shampoo called Poppy Pleasure from Riverdale Days Collection had a rather sweet and yet fresh scent. The shampoo itself didn’t do much. Yes, it washed my hair but nothing else.

Santinique Extra Volume Conditioner for fine, flat hair. My go-to conditioner since I have always had heavy hair and this helps to give it some volume. It works well with my hair and does what it promises. What else could you wish from a conditioner?

Coolway Gow Oil Treatment sample size was one of the best hair oils I have tried. After using it, my hair tips were looking much healthier and moisturised than without using the oil. I liked the sweet smell as well.

In my empties basket are some products I would categorise in hand care- antibacterial hand gel and nail polish remover.

Marks and Spencer Hand Cleansing Gel with antibacterial action. I have to admit, I didn’t like it at all. The gel dried my skin and it didn’t have a good smell either. I couldn’t wait for it to be finished.

Maybelline Express Nail Polish Remover is my current holy grail of nail polish remover. It has a mild almond scent (almond extract added to the formula) and it works quickly. I don’t have to air the room later or hold my breath while doing a new set manicure.

Two products which I couldn’t place into any other previously named “categories” are perfume tester and body butter.

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium– I could fall in love with this scent- dark, deep and dangerous smell which holds you in its grip and won’t let you go. Addictive. Since I am not good at sensing the exact notes in a perfume, I am going to use their own description.
“When the electrifying energy of black coffee meets the assertive femininity of white flowers. A vibrant, sensual and addictive contrast of light and dark. Black coffee accord, orange blossom, cedarwood and patchouli.”

Last but not least- The Body Shop Shea Body Butter. It was the third shea body butter in my life and I still love it. I love the appearance, smell, texture, and feeling after applying. It is perfect for pampering yourself.

I hope this was interesting, and if you have any comments and/or questions, don’t hesitate to let me know your thoughts.

Thank you for reading,

  1. […] Artistry Essentials Eye and Lip Makeup Remover – I have lost count how many times I have finished this product in past three years. This is my holy grail makeup remover. It was a two phase system, so it needed a bit of shaking before applying it to the cotton pad. It contained skin soothing aloe vera, chamomile, and oat extract. In my experience, this makeup remover left my skin a bit greasy but it wasn’t too bad. I´ve talked about the product in the posts ´Evening Routine´  and November Empties. […]
