Work Essentials

We all have that little makeup bag which we take everywhere. Depending on where we go, the contents differ with one or two products, but mostly it is still the same.

Today I will share with you my little makeup bag that travels with me to work and back. Now I remind you, these are really only essentials which help me change or fix my look if necessary during the work day. I still have full makeup look from morning- from foundation primer to two coats of mascara.

Few words and comments about the products:

Yves Saint Laurent Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain- This is in the toneRouge Laque”. Bright red carpet lip tint comes out of my makeup bag on occasions when I need to be presentable. You know, the “don´t mess with me” type of style when you need to be professional and maybe a bit feminine. Unfortunately, I don’t have those moments often, but it is still nice to apply the glossy stain on your lips when I need a little push up during the day. Also perfect to pump up your lipstick or refresh your lip gloss from the morning.

Elf Moisturizing Lipstick- I have it in the tone “Ravishing Rose”. I take this out when I need a tone on my lips or just to refresh my lipstick from morning. Usually, no matter what lipstick I am wearing, half of it is gone by afternoon and refreshing is needed. It has a nice dark smoky mauve colour which works great to replace or fulfill any other lipstick and look I should wear.

Revlon Colorstay Concealer- I have it in the tone “02 Light”. I use this on my “bad skin” days, when my face has declared war on me and is bombing me with multiple blemishes and pimples. This keeps everything nicely under control. I just tap my problem spots with the concealer through the day whenever they are showing themselves to me in the mirror.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Lip Care SPF 15- A basic chapstick with vitamin E. It softens lips, stays on a long time, and smells good. Easy to apply on the run. My go-to chapstick when long lasting is needed.

The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cleanser Gel- Perfect for situations where you feel you need to clean your hands right there and right now. It smells like strawberry vodka for a moment and then dissolves into the air, leaving your hands smelling slightly like a strawberry from the forest. The gel also softens hands and doesn’t leave them sticky, which is a really good plus for a product like this.

The Body Shop Shea Hand Cream- This cream has a pleasant shea scent, moisturizes and keeps my hands nice and soft. Since the air in my office is rather dry and the skin on my hands cracks easily, it is my best friend on workdays.

Sally Hansen´s nail clippers and H&M nail file- These two are just space takers most of the time, but whenever I take them out of the bag, my nail ends up breaking. I leave them in because it’s always better to be safe, than sorry.

  1. […] After my eyes are done, I move on to creating a perfect base for powder makeup. The first thing I do, is apply concealer under my eyes, nose, chin and forehead. The important part of all concealer/foundation applying, is to blend everything properly. I use Revlon Colorstay concealer in the tone 02 Light. You will find my appreciation for this particular concealer in one of my older posts. […]
